I was such a pushover when it came to upset patients and handling patients. Learning how to handle a patient has made my job so much easier! I am more confident when I talk and when I tell a patient I need them to do something. When I successfully handle a patient, I refer to “going GURU on them” and it is a great feeling to be in control and still be respectful. I am thrilled to keep training with the Front Office GURU program and continue to become a better patient care coordinator. If you’re thinking about doing this program, stop thinking…just do it. As a therapist and business owner of a busy out-patient rehab clinic for the past 20+ years this is one of the best investments I have made in years…. While I have spent a lot of money over the years training my clinical team, I have invested very little in my front desk/patient care coordinators. I have written many policy/procedures, trained interpersonal communication skills, collected a large number of statistics and have systems in place to monitor performance but simply put this program is better. It has given my PCCs confidence and tools to demonstrate care and concern for our patients while remaining in control of all that needs to happen to ensure a patient gets the help they need quickly, shows up for their appointments and completes their plan of care. This program is very specific on how to do this but more importantly explains the why…to help people. This has been a game changer for our team.
